TB Epidemiological review measures the extent to which the TB surveillance measures the TB disease burden and mortality and analyse trend to ascertain the TB epidemiological profile and the interventions to address TB disease. Dr.

Uganda has recently conducted the comprehensive review of the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) to understand the progress of the implementation of the Revised National Strategic Plan (NSP) of 2015/16 to 2019/20. EPIMAT Consulting through its Managing Partner Dr.

Data analysis and use to inform progress and performance at the health facility and program level is crucial to plan and allocate resources. EPIMAT Consulting wants to contribute to building capacity to students, health care workers and program officers to analyze and use their own data.

EPIMAT Consulting keeps on growing and work with other countries in Africa, and now it is Uganda. Our Managing Partner, Dr. Francis Mhimbira worked with World Health Organization Global TB Program (WHO GTB) in Geneva Switzerland, WHO AFRO and Uganda National TB and Leprosy Programme to conduct the TB Epidemiological Assessment.

Dr. Francis had yet another opportunity to work with Tanzania National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) to write the National Data Quality Assessment (DQA) report. The workshop was conducted in Tanga in 2018. The findings from the report will provide useful information to NACP, funding agencies such as Global Fund and USAID on the quality of data generated from the health facilities, areas to sustain the gains and improve. Quality data helps us plan better our resources. Looking forward to work with NACP in the future DQA activities.

This was an exciting opportunity to work with National TB and Leprosy Programme and KNCV Tanzania in collaboration with consultants from KNCV Netherlands. We collected routinely collected data from NTLP, implementing partners and other government agencies. We used an Excel-based tool that was developed in 2017 by Dr. Rein Houben, M. Farid, the Indonesian NTP, and KNCV Indonesia to estimate the sub-national (regional and district) TB estimates.

Another great opportunity for EPIMAT Consulting to work with Sikika (www.sikika.or.tz) and contribute to understanding how 108 health facilities manage HIV commodities in 21 districts in Tanzania.

EPIMAT Consulting was excited to work with a consultant for United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime in Tanzania to assess the availability of comprehensive HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health Services in 13 prisons (10 regions) in Tanzania. We trained research assistants and deployed to Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Iringa, Kagera, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Morogoro, Mtwara and Mwanza.
